About the Tracey C. Barnes Scholarship Fund

The Tracey C. Barnes Scholarship Fund Inc, is an IRS 501 3 C nonprofit charitable organization. TCBSF, Inc. was founded in 2006 after the late Tracey C. Barnes, wife, mother, Licensed Practical Nurse, and friend. Tracey was affectionately known as “Mother “, “Flowers “, “Nana “, and Trace. Tracey passed away in January 2006 from Breast Cancer at the age of 44.

In the family’s loss, TCBSF, Inc. was founded to assist with empowering the community in the fight against breast cancer. The organization, in partnership with several others, is committed to providing breast health education and increasing the knowledge of “Early Detection is the Key”.

Under the auspices of the TCBSF, Inc. the scholarship program has provided over $18,000 in monetary assistance to qualified high school students pursuing a college education in the community. The pledge of youth empowerment demonstrates a proven assurance to positive change in the community.

In association with the Princeton YWCA breast cancer resource center, the Susan G. Komen for the cure foundation Central and South Jersey, and The Sisters Network of Central and South Jersey, TCBSF, Inc. encourages yearly breast cancer screening to women who become candidates for breast cancer. Statistics prove that the most important tools used in the fight against breast cancer are Breast Health Education and Early Detection through self breast examination, mammograms, and clinical breast exams.
